VBK Fraud Center

Vintage Bank Kansas wants to protect your account at all times, so we offer a FREE 24-hour service that electronically monitors your debit card for any suspicious activity. In the event this system detects “suspicious activity,” you will receive a text, phone call or email asking you to verify transactions on your account.

It is important to remember that scammers will also try to mimic these messages in order to steal your money and personal information.

Here are some tips to know the difference:

We will never send you a link to click on to verify a transaction.

When verifying a transaction, we will not redirect you to another site. The entire process is handled within the same communication platform. We may verify your identity but we will never ask you for your full debit card number, PIN, or CVV.

You should only ever have to respond YES or NO.

If you receive a text message your reply should only ever be, YES or NO. There should never be a link to click on to view the transaction. We will also never ask you for your online banking information or ask you to login to your online banking to verify a transaction.

When in doubt – CALL US!

If you are concerned about a message that you have received you can verify the authenticity of the message by contacting any of our locations. You should never call the phone number in the message. Go to our website and click contact us, or contact your local branch.

We will never rush you!

If you have received a legitimate message from us, the transaction has already been stopped. Hackers may try and pressure you by claiming immediate action is necessary to prevent money loss. It is crucial that you not respond or provide personal information without first verifying the authenticity of the sender.
